A unique atmosphere that feels like home, Liberty Market has inside and outside dining options. Soups, salads, sandwiches and pan-fired pizzas for lunch average $10-15.
This bistro features great service, a solid menu and Arizona’s largest variety of South American-style savory empanadas representing the different regions and tastes of Latin American. Order several empanadas to sample and share! Choose from empanadas filled with pork, chicken, ground beef, vegetables, potatoes, ham and more. There’s even a Greek empanada stuffed with sautéed spinach, feta cheese, tomato and olives. Top off your meal by ordering sweet empanadas embellished with whipped cream, chocolate sauce or ice cream.
Republica Empanada is a unique dining experience. It can get noisy inside, but the outside patio is perfect for business meetings and networking. Platters run $10-15 and single empanadas are under $4.
Gilbert – Agritopia
Barnone has several great options – we like Fire and Brimstone from Gilbert’s own James Johnston. With ingredients pulled straight from The Farm at Agritopia, Fire and Brimstone is a community-focused eatery, embracing rustic cooking methods with wood-fired cuisine. Try the imaginative Fire and Brimstone Pizza, with house-made merguez sausage, jalapeños and cilantro. The roasted whole trout and half-roast chicken are excellent as well.
Every type of preference is available, including gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian and meat-eaters. Get some dessert before you leave, the chocolate chip and butterscotch pizookies are winners. There’s a $10 lunch combo that is a good value.
Gilbert, Tempe and 2 Phoenix locations
This bruschetta-and-wine bar is a favorite among locals in Gilbert’s heritage district. Choose from an assortment of more than 10 bruschetta varieties such as prosciutto, figs and mascarpone; smoked salmon with pesto; roasted peppers with goat cheese; and ricotta, dates and pistachios. Also offered are soups, salads and panini, all made with local ingredients and artisan breads.
The setting at Postinos is casual and upscale, with a variety of seating options. Averages $10-15 for menu items.
The perfect place for a great express lunch, Steak and Stone’s claim to fame is artisan cuts of meat served on a 500 degree stone, with a view of the Falcon Field runway. Servers go above and beyond the call of duty to provide a great experience.
The Molcajete Lava Bowl is a favorite, with steak, chicken or shrimp, vegetables and spicy red sauce combined and brought to the table in a 500-degree rock bowl. Sandwiches are priced around $10 and steaks run $20-40 depending on cut and size.
Chandler and Mesa locations
The ambience is impressive, with rich colors, subdued lighting and rock walls. The menu features traditional American classics prepared from scratch. Choose from salads, sandwiches and specialties that include baby back ribs, salmon and prime rib. Nice selection of sides at Charleston’s. Their parmesan chicken is highly recommended. This is a mid- to higher-end restaurant.
Gilbert and Chandler
There’s something for everyone with this extensive menu that offers a variety of mainstream American dishes, as well as a variety of entrees and appetizers with an international influence. Try one of the unique sushi dishes, served by an extremely friendly staff in a casually elegant atmosphere. Under $30.
