Girls Drinking SmoothieSmoothies are so easy, especially if you have a Nutribullet or something similar. Easy to make and easy to clean up, a pre-teen can definitely manage, especially if you pull the ingredients together in the refrigerator for them earlier in the day. Find “home grown” dates all over the East Valley and frozen mango and flaxseed at the Sprouts (coming soon to Rittenhouse and Ellsworth) near Cadence. We found this recipe in Epicurious, but you’ll enjoy creating your own versions once you get started –  it’s a healthy addiction! Mango, Berry and Banana Smoothie Makes 2 servings Ingredients:
  • 1 ripe, peeled banana
  • 2 pitted dates
  • 1 cup frozen mango chunks
  • 3/4 cup coconut water – or water
  • 1/2 cup frozen or fresh blackberries or blueberries
  • 1/4 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon flaxseeds
