New City of Mesa Park Near Cadence

Exciting new recreation opportunities are coming to east Mesa, right across from Cadence at Gateway. Situated within the neighboring community of Eastmark, this City of Mesa public park is available to everyone. The new 28.7-acre park at Ellsworth and Ray Roads will offer sports fields, a playground, picnic ramadas and a dog park area.

Attractions include:

  • Four baseball fields with 300-foot fence lines and skinned infields
  • Two sand volleyball courts
  • Two basketball courts
  • A playground
  • Two shaded picnic ramadas
  • An off-leash dog area

Aimee Manis, management assistant at Mesa Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities, said the volleyball and basketball courts will be first-come, first-served drop-in amenities. The baseball fields will be reservable though the City of Mesa Athletics Department application process. Applications will not be received until September when the city has a firmer date for opening in the fall. The turf has been planted, but the city needs to ensure that it grows in and will be able to sustain use before opening to the public.
