Opening Day of Silver Valley Elementary in the Queen Creek School District is approaching quickly. As a part of one of the fastest growing districts in Arizona, it was clear that Silver Valley needed to create spaces that were of optimal use. We had the chance to speak with principal of Silver Valley Elementary, Alison Carmichael, in their new stand-alone cafeteria space. Having a large, stand-alone cafeteria generates a space that not only can be used for eating lunch but also to run both music and PE classes during those lunch hours while other students are eating lunch.

Enhancing the space is not the only unique thing that Silver Valley is doing. Carmichael also mentioned, “We’re going to have a beautiful outdoor amphitheater with synthetic grass for our kids to use as an outdoor learning space or maybe even for talent shows and assemblies.” The school also plans to have a STEAM lab for a maker space as well as a STEAM lab for technology, called a smart lab. Students will have one-of-a-kind opportunities to really dig into learning technology and science in both the lab spaces.

It doesn’t stop there. Silver Valley is also going to have a gigantic library filled with nearly every book your student could dream of reading. The library is also going to feature a technology-infused green room to use for morning announcements and for class projects. Silver Valley Elementary has put in countless hours to create a learning space for your children and their students to feel safe, have fun and receive maximum levels of education. They care about where your child spends so much of their time and are so excited for the new school year to begin.
